Subtle Summer Colours— Monday, 2 May 2016 —
After the last wedding we posted – which was a riot of fiesta-inspired flowers – we thought we would share this very different palette but equally summery vibe.
Kat and John got married at Kelburn Castle and we worked with a subtle yet colourful palette of blush, pink and palest blue to create a wild, bohemian look that was lent an air of elegance by the subtle tones and colours. Texture was a very important part of the bridal bouquets with lush, papery over-sized peonies, scabiosas and delphiniums contrasting with the tight structure of the pale pink dalias.
We created a gorgeous floral crown for Kat’s bridesmaid and quirky buttonholes for the men, with wild flowers and foliage for the groomsmen and small lego figurines for the page boys.
We also created a beautiful asymmetrical floral bough to hang above the door of the tipi, welcoming the guests to the reception where small wreaths of foliage and flowerheads accented the ceramic and gold stags that held the table numbers and bright blooms accented the welcome board and wedding signs.
